till May 17

that the lockdown has been increased by 17 May. As the number of Kovid-19 cases
is gradually increasing across the country, the government has extended
the nationwide .
Earlier, Lockdown was till 3
May, now it has been extended 2 weeks, which has been till dated 17 May.
On 1 May, the Government of India under Prime
Minister Narendra Modi ordered a nationwide lockdown for 2 week, limiting move
of the entire 1.3 billion population of India as a preventive measure again the
2020 coronavirus pandemic in India.
The Secret lockdown was placed when the number of confirme positive
coronavirus cases in India was approximately 500. Almost 18 days later, the
health organisation (WHO) ministry said the country had 6,761 coronavirus cases
and more than 200 deaths up to Friday.
The virus has reach faraway
places and infecting those who have no travel history.
Janata Curfew
The Janata Curfew was a
12-hour curfew from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. that was scheduled on 21 March 2020, prior
to the total lockdown.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi
spoke with chief ministers of all states Saturday to decide a nationwide
extension of the lockdown beyond April 14 to check the spread of COVID-19.
Everyone except people of essential
service such as police, medical services,
media, home delivery professional and fire fighters were needed to take part in
the curfew.
At 5 p.m. that day, all
citizens were asked to stand in their doorways, balconies or windows, and clap
their hands or ring their bells in appreciation for the professionals
delivering these essential services.
But several states appear to
be in favor of prolonging the Secret
lockdown as the number of patients continue to increase. People belonging
to National Cadet Corps and National Service Scheme were to enforce the curfew
in the country.
The Prime Minister also
urged the youth to inform 10 others about Janata Curfew and encourage everyone
to observe the curfew.
